You can search LaGENIUS several ways:

By Keywords: most useful because this is the most commonly populated field which codes interests. Moreover, there is a high chance that people with similar interests will choose the same terms from the Keyword Thesaurus: more about Keyword Searches later.

By free text search of the full Profiles or restricted to the Research Interests field : (this field is often not completed because many academics just provide keywords). Free Text Search lets you use words not in the thesaurus.

Participating Institutions: We suggest you look for talent in Louisiana first! Select Louisiana from the State Menu. Searches can be confined to one or more institutions, for example some or all the universities in Louisiana, by using the Institutional listing. (We provide a listing of Louisiana Universities active in LaGenius: print this list for reference.)

The Thesaurus contains over 3000 terms arranged in a discipline-oriented hierarchy that permits broad searches or focused searches for persons with very specific interests. If a term you want to use does not exist in the thesaurus, seek a synonym or a more general keyword.
