Research Areas:
The mission is to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of agriculture in Louisiana by providing economically sound, environmentally safe, socially acceptable solutions to problems associated with plant pathogens, weeds, and physiological limitations; to implement applications of the research effort where appropriate; to provide training and instruction of the highest quality to undergraduate and graduate students so that they can become informed citizens prepared to embark on their own careers in the agricultural sector, science, research or teaching. Ongoing projects include disease and weed management, ecology and epidemiology of plant disease, weed ecology, interactions of diseases, weeds and nematodes, effects of space environment on seed production, seed dormancy studies, and use of biotechnology to improve disease resistance and nutritional value of crops.

Expertise in plant pathology and crop physiology, mycology, biology, biotechnology, seed physiology, forest pathology and nematology.
