Research Areas:
Initially, the program plans to offer a variety of cultural events and activities for the Shreveport/Bossier community to help develop an understanding of and appreciation for the culture of India. In subsequent years, the program will offer courses in history, politics, religion, philosophy, literature, and other disciplines at LSU-Shreveport for college credit. The program also plans to promote research collaborations among faculty at LSU-S and at selected universities in India through faculty exchanges. At a later stage, graduate and undergraduate students may be able to travel between the two countries for short-term and long-term study and research. LSU-S now collaborates with the M.S. University in Baroda in publishing an inter-disciplinary journal, the Journal of Contemporary Thought.
