Research Areas:

NCPTT is the sole national research and development office for technical advances in historic preservation. NCPTT is part of the Washington, DC headquarters of the US Department of the Interior-National Park Service, located at Northwestern State University of Louisiana by enabling legislation. NCPTT is organized in three components-research, training and information management-, and four programs - grants, projects, clearinghouse and consultations.

Goals: NCPTT is 1) the leading national research and development program for preservation technologies, 2) a major national clearinghouse for preservation technology information, and 3) a national leader in developing and providing training in preservation technologies.
