Mission:
The mission of the Tulane Xavier National Center of Excellence in Womens Health (TUXCOE) is to enhance the health and well-being of women in the Greater New Orleans/Region I area through a five-part program: clinical care, research, community integration, gender-specific health professional education, and the advancement of women in medicine and science.
Clinical Services:
TUXCOE, working in collaboration with the Tulane University Hospital and Clinics and community partners, provides "one-stop shopping" clinical care in this "center without walls. Research:
TUXCOE faculty and partners conduct research across the spectrum of basic and applied research in womens health and gender-based studies. Some particular areas of activity include: breast health and breast cancer, urological disorders, environmental hazards and toxins, economic self-sufficiency. Community Integration:
TUXCOE has an active community outreach and integration program that brings together over 30 community organization dedicated to women' issues and concerns. These partnerships are integral to TUXCOE' mission and operation. Community Integration Director: Bettina Beech, DrPH: 587-2181
Curricula:

Advancement of Women:

Location:
TUXCOE is temporarily located at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, 1501 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon completion of its administrative offices, TUXCOE will move to nearby 127 Elks Place in New Orleans. The administrative staff, library, and educational facilities will be located there. The clinical services are integrated throughout the Tulane Hospital and Clinics.
