Research Areas:
Our mission is to provide the best marine safety training available anywhere by using state-of-the-art training facility and highly motivated instructors to train students in safe controlled atmosphere. MSTC continues to work with industry on evaluating methods to retrieve personnel from the water.
Areas of Expertise:
The Center's research centers around our training mission and providing service to our clients. Major areas of research include helicoptor safety and underwater egress, all phases of water survival, water pollution, and industrial training.
Special Capabilities and Facilities:
The Center has seven survival craft and a 90 foot deep lake for training and research projects. Since the vessels are used for training, they are operated more than any other survival craft in the U.S. and are ideal for testing new systems. Our largest research resource is our participants. We train in excess of 4,000 offshore workers a year.
Research Equipment:
Seven survival craft and four swet helicopter simulators and mets simulator.
